Advisory Committee on Faculty Excellence

The Advisory Committee on Faculty Excellence (ACFE) advises and collaboratively supports new and ongoing efforts to promote faculty development and faculty success in the College of Arts & Sciences. The College aspires to provide holistic support for the success of all members of our faculty and to foster a broadly shared sense of belonging within and across all faculty cohorts. The ACFE works with the College to develop, improve, guide, and participate in programming that promotes opportunities for professional growth and success for faculty members across all ranks and disciplines, along the full career trajectory.

The ACFE consists of at least 4 elected and 2 appointed members. One committee member is elected from each of the disciplinary domains in the College (Arts and Humanities, Math and Natural Sciences, Social Sciences) and one is elected at-large. Nominations (including self-nominations) are open-rank and election is by plurality. Appointed members are appointed by the Dean from the College at large, guided by the shared interest in a committee that represents different levels of experience and brings a range of voices and perspectives to advisory discussions and collaborative projects that support faculty excellence. These positions serve a 3-year term.
