Dr. Hammersmith’s current research is centered on aging and families. Her work examines aging parent’s relationships with their adult children over the life course, specifically how these relationships link to health, well-being, and exchanges of support. Other work investigates the predictors of and consequences related to union dissolution and formation in later life.
