Welcome to the Bowling Green State University
Student Insurance Office!
Health Insurance at Bowling Green State University is a requirement for:
- All domestic students taking 8 or more credit hours on main campus. Correspondence, Online, and Distance Learning Classes are not considered to be on main campus.
- Students will see the
Health Insurance Requirment on their "To Do" List through
MyBGSU 24-48 hours after being registered for 8 or more credit hours
on main campus.
- If you already have adequate health insurance and do not wish to enroll into the BGSU/Aetna Student Health Plan, you must submit a waiver in your Student Center (MyBGSU) before the posted Waiver/Enrollment deadline.
you do not have other health insurance, review the Aetna Student
Health Plan details and select to Enroll into one of the plan
options through your MyBGSU account.
- International students are required to enroll into the BGSU/Aetna Student Health Plan. International students may qualify for an exemption if they meet specific criteria.
About our Student Health Plan:
BGSU is partnering with Aetna Student Health for the upcoming 2016-2017 policy year. Detailed information about student health insurance plan benefits is available and can be viewed through the Aetna Student Health website here
Student Insurance Office Hours are as follows:
- Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Closed Holidays
The Mission of the Bowling Green State University Student Insurance Office is to support and empower students in an inclusive environment to become knowledgeable health care consumers, assist them as they navigate through the health insurance process while achieving their academic goals, and provide a student insurance product at the highest possible benefit level and lowest possible cost.
