National team members are selected based on attitude, work ethic, and skill. BGSU has competed and will compete in the following divisions at UCA College Nationals:

  • Small Co-Ed

  • All-Girl

  • All-Girl Gameday

  • Co-Ed Gameday

The team consists of 20 members competing on the mat and 6-8 alternates. The routine will consist of 2 music portions which contain tumbling, stunts, pyramids and baskets. Then also a cheer portion, with a major focus on using skills & props for crowd leading. To prepare for nationals, those on small coed have practices all throughout the season as well as during breaks to ensure a successful showing at the championship. This already large division at the championship continues to grow with more teams competing every year.  Athletes interested in being a member of the Small Coed floor must display a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and consistency with their elite level skills.

To prepare for nationals, those on All-Girl have practices all throughout the season as well as during breaks to ensure a successful showing at the championship. This division is an extremely competitive division with some of the largest schools in the nation competing. Athletes interested in being a member of the All-Girl floor must display a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and consistency with their elite level skills.

Gameday divisions are permitted up to 30 cheerleaders on the competition floor. Gameday routines have a full focus on crowd leading. The three main components within the routine include our fight song, a situational sideline (offense & defense) as well as a timeout routine. We love bringing the skills we already do on the sideline to the competition floor. Athletes interested in being a member of the gameday competition teams must display a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and consistency with their gameday skills.
