The commitment to providing the  #1 Ranked Experience for the Ohio Student extends to research and sponsored programs and includes efforts to secure funds for student organizations and organizing university events for dissemination of research results

Funding for Student Organizations

The Office of Student Engagement coordinates a variety of events, activities and resources designed to enhancing the overall student experience, including coordinating with Sponsored Programs & Research to assist various student organizations on campus with seeking grant funding.  Some examples of successfully funded proposals include grant awards for Organization Suite Security Enhancements and Event security Kit for Student Organizations.  

Additionally, Research & Sponsored Programs assisted two student organizations in receiving funding from the Ohio Department of Higher Education funded through the Campus Community Grant Program, which was established to support Ohio institutions of higher education as they work to foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful education environment. 

Opportunities exist for students of all majors and disciplines to conduct innovative research, scholarly, and creative projects and to share their results. For example, The Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURS) assists undergraduate students in connecting with finding research, scholarly or creative project opportunities with mentors and offers funding opportunities, such as:

Student Career Readiness

Students attend BGSU to prepare for their future careers.  Intersections with hands-on experiences (e.g. capstone research projects, research assistantship, internship) can provide invaluable skillsets including critical thinking, problem solving, communication and time management.  BGSU offers many opportunities for students to engage in research – both annual metrics and impactful student successes are shared below.
