TOLEDO — The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball team defeated rival University of Toledo 85-79 on Jan. 25 at Savage Arena behind the strong backcourt play of Dylan Frye and Justin Turner, who combined for 42 points.

The Falcons (15-5, 6-1 Mid-American Conference) won their sixth straight game, as Frye scored 22 points and Turner had 20. Daeqwon Plowden contributed a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Caleb Fields scored 11 points and was 6 for 6 from the free-throw line.

BGSU outrebounded Toledo 40-32 and connected on 11 of 21 3-point attempts. The Falcons’ largest lead was 10 points, 77-67.

The Rockets (11-9, 3-4) were led by Marreon Jackson, who scored 27 points.
