What is the Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund

Every membership gift makes a difference. Last year our entry-level members collectively funded 5 athletic scholarships.

The newly named Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund replaces the previously named Falcon Club to align our fundraising priorities with the need for student scholarship support. Your gifts will allow BGSU to recruit and retain the best student-athletes as we compete for championships in the MAC and WCHA and also prepare our Falcons for success upon graduation.

Investments in the Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund will allow BGSU to provide our student-athletes with the maximum amount of scholarship support allowed by the NCAA in every sport we sponsor. Currently, we fall short of that important goal which places BGSU at a disadvantage as we compete with other schools for talented and deserving student-athletes. Athletic scholarship costs have risen from $5.5 million just five years ago to more than $6.5 million in the coming year. Now, more than ever, your generous investment in the Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund provides the measure of excellence for BGSU Athletics.

The case for Falcon Club Scholarship and Success Fund membership gifts

1. Your investment transforms the lives of BGSU student-athletes by providing them meaningful academic, athletic and social experiences in our community and beyond.
2. Any coach will say recruiting is their lifeline. Without scholarship resources, coaches are not able to attract the best student-athletes.
3. With more private scholarship funding, BGSU Athletics will be able to allocate other operational funds to sport budgets.
4. Only a very small percentage of BGSU student-athletes will play their sport professionally. A great education combined with the life lessons learned through athletics prepares these young men and women for lifelong success.
