The National Center for Family & Marriage Research with the Center for Family & Demographic Research present state-level monthly and yearly marriage and divorce counts and refined rates in the United State for the years 2017 through 2022.

Data and Documentation
Data Files
State-level monthly and yearly marriage and divorce data are provided as a downloadable CSV file. The file includes state-level marriage and divorce counts, refined marriage and divorce rates, associated denominator estimates, state postal abbreviations, and unique state identifiers (FIPS codes), allowing the data to be easily linked to other datasets for analysis.
The dataset is structured in long format with one record per state-month observation and includes data for all U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
Codebook and Technical Documentation
This codebook documents the state-level monthly and yearly marriage and divorce data, including data sources, variable definitions, geographic coverage, file structure, and notes on data quality and limitations.
