Mental health support tool

powered by AI

A new way to get support anytime you need it.

Sometimes you need help working through stress, anxiety or overwhelming moments, but you may not want to schedule an appointment or wait for office hours.

The Bowling Green campus is piloting a new digital wellness resource designed to help you check in with your mental health, learn coping strategies and access guided support whenever you need it.

The platform is called Inner Peak, and you have been invited to try it as part of a student pilot program.

Your experience will help the University understand whether tools like this should be expanded to support more students.

FAQs

You may already use AI tools to answer questions or brainstorm ideas. Those tools can be helpful, but they are not designed to support mental health.

Inner Peak is different.

Built with mental health professionals
The activities, guidance and support tools were created with input from licensed clinicians and wellness experts. The platform focuses on strategies that are used in real mental health care and resilience training.

Designed specifically for well-being
General AI tools respond to prompts. Inner Peak guides you through structured exercises that help you build skills for managing stress, anxiety and emotional challenges.

A private environment
Your experience inside Inner Peak is designed to feel personal and supportive. The platform focuses on helping you reflect, practice coping strategies and build healthier habits without turning your experiences into public training data.

Tools that guide you step by step
Instead of giving you a block of text, Inner Peak walks you through short activities, check-ins and exercises designed to help you process what you are feeling and move forward.

Students often open the platform when they are:

  • Feeling overwhelmed by school or life responsibilities
  • Trying to calm down during a stressful moment
  • Looking for strategies to manage anxiety or racing thoughts
  • Building healthier mental habits over time
  • Reflecting on how they are feeling during the week

Even if you are not struggling with something right now, many students use tools like this to build skills that help them stay mentally healthy.

Inner Peak is not a replacement for counseling services.

Think of it as an additional tool you can use when:

  • You want support outside Counseling Center hours
  • You need help in the moment
  • You want to build long-term coping skills

If you want to talk with a counselor, the BGSU Counseling Center still offers free in-person and virtual mental health support, as well as other campus resources.

Inner Peak simply gives you another option when you want support right away.

Your experience in Inner Peak is designed to remain private.

The University will review general pilot information, such as:

  • How many students activated an account
  • How often the platform is used overall

That’s it.

This will help us evaluate whether the tool is useful for students. Your personal reflections remain confidential inside the platform.

Help shape future student support

This pilot will help us understand whether digital wellness tools like Inner Peak can support students alongside existing resources.

Your experience and feedback will help the university decide whether to expand access to more students in the future.
