Crisis Counseling and Consultation Services

Same Day Consultation & Crisis Support Services (SDCSS)


The Counseling Center supports students in crisis through SDCSS services. We offer 30 hours of SDCSS appointments weekly. These services are available for new and returning students at 101 East Hall. We offer six one-hour appointments Monday thru Friday during the following times:

  • 9:00 am
  • 10:00 am
  • 11:00 am
  • 1:00 pm
  • 2:00 pm
  • 3:00 pm

To access daily appointment times, please call (419) 372-2081, or stop by in person to see what is available for the day. Appointments are scheduled on the hour and are offered on a first come first served basis. Same day consultation services are:

  • Brief one-on-one meetings intended to help students manage immediate stressors.
  • Used to assess suicide risk and make appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Used to make counseling and or community referrals as needed.

After-Hours Crisis Support

If you need urgent support outside of regular hours, call the Wood County Crisis Line at 419-502-HOPE (4673). This free, confidential service is available 24/7 and is operated by Unison Health.

Confidentiality

Crisis counseling and consultations are confidential within the limits of the law. Information shared with Counseling Center staff will not be disclosed without a student’s written consent, except in situations where disclosure is required by law, such as when there is a concern about serious harm to self or others, suspected abuse or neglect of a minor, or as otherwise mandated by court order.
