Religious Accommodation Policy
In alignment with Ohio Public Policy on Student Religious Accommodations, students who need religious accommodations are entitled to “up to three days each academic semester to take holidays for reasons of faith or religious or spiritual belief system or participate in organized activities conducted under the auspices of a religious denomination, church, or other religious or spiritual organization”
The University will provide a student with alternative accommodations with regard to examinations and other academic requirements if both the following apply:
· The student’s sincerely held religious belief or practice severely affects the student’s ability to take an examination or meet an academic requirement; and
· Not later than fourteen calendar days after the first day of instruction in a particular course, the student provides the instructor with written notice of the specific dates for which the student requests alternative accommodations.
Students who would like to make a complaint related to religious accommodations should follow the procedure described on University Policy (3341-2-82). Formal complaints may be filed online using the See It. Hear It. Report It. website.
