STUDENT AWARDS

Each year students are honored for their hard work and dedication at the Psychology Fall Mixer.

Libby Furrow was awarded the 2024 Bonnie A. Sandman, Ph.D. Award. This award is bestowed upon a 4th-year I-O Graduate Student who exemplifies excellence in academic performance, applied research, and professional service.

Aarti Polavarapu was awarded the 2024 Institute for Psychological Research and Application (IPRA) Award. This award is bestowed upon an I-O Graduate Student who demonstrates exemplary commitment to IPRA.

Barbara Warner was awarded the 2024 Lowell Schipper Memorial Award. This award is awarded to a 1st-year Psychology Graduate Student on the basis of academic excellence in statistics and willingness to help fellow students.

SPEAKER SERIES 

The I-O Program hosts a weekly Speaker Series with invited guest speakers from both academia and applied settings.  

Students are also encouraged to present their work.

SOCIAL LIFE 

In addition to the high quality of academic life at BGSU, our I-O students and faculty appreciate the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and fun. As most will attest, balanced individuals produce greater amounts of high quality work.

LOCAL COMMUNITY

Without a doubt, one of the other factors contributing to the high quality of life within the BGSU program is the surrounding community.Bowling Green is a small college town located in northwest Ohio, approximately 20 minutes south of Toledo and about 50 minutes southeast of Ann Arbor, Michigan. This town offers everything you need and very little of what you don't (visit Main Street Bowling Green for more info). Bowling Green has four distinct seasons, offering a variety of weather conditions. The average winter temperature is 31 degrees with an average snowfall of 27 inches per year. The average summer temperature is 71 degrees.
