Greetings! 

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I welcome you to the Department of Political Science at Bowling Green State University.

Our overall, encompassing vision is to provide exceptional undergraduate and graduate education based on a strong foundation of faculty excellence in research and teaching. The Department of Political Science provides students with engaging experiences both inside the classroom and outside the classroom. Our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for their outstanding research articles, publications, lectures, and other academic work.

Our academic programs include an undergraduate major in Political Science with area requirements in American Government; International Relations and Comparative Politics; Political Theory; Public Administration, and Public Law. We also offer minors in Peace and Conflict Resolution and Non-Profit Administration.

The Political Science department also administers a variety of other programs and student activities, including Model United Nations, Model European Union, International Relations Organizations, Constitution Day, College Republicans, College Democrats, Pi Sigma Alpha, Law Society, and other activities.

Beyond Political Science, the online Bachelor’s in Science in Fire Administration program provides fire fighters with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully become leaders in the fire service, emergency management, and public administration.

At the graduate level, our nationally accredited and nationally ranked Master’s in public administration prepares our students for leadership roles in public service, such as working for a non-profit, government, or higher education.
