How can you develop your writing process?

Write here.

The University Writing Program (UWP) encourages you to:

  • Write together with others as part of a discourse community.
  • Draw on lived experiences to write what you know.
  • Develop confidence in writing and speaking through sustained practice.
  • Reach audiences effectively both in the classroom and the community.
  • Learn to respect other viewpoints through the exchange of ideas.

University Writing Program mission

Words change worlds. The University Writing Program sees writing as both a way of thinking and a form of action that has real-world consequences. Our three workshop-style courses invite students into the complex processes involved in the production of meaningful writing and encourage students to use their skills in new situations as they shape the many worlds they inhabit – academic, professional, public and personal.
