BGSU United Way Campaign, Creating Public Good

United Way Campaign

Dear BGSU Employee,

It is our pleasure to announce the kickoff of the 2022 United Way Campaign with Northwest Ohio Community Shares.

In Wood County, the local Continuum of Care estimates an average of four persons a day are seeking assistance for housing and utilities. Your gift to United Way helps to provide emergency services to those facing homelessness, struggling with violence in the home, or dealing with the devastation and displacement of fire or flood.

In the city of Bowling Green alone, 31 percent of individuals are living in poverty with an additional 26 percent who are “income constrained.” That is more than half of all homes you drive by, or neighbors you see each day on your way to work, who cannot afford the critical services needed for them, and their children, to live happy, healthy lives.

Now, in the midst of a pandemic, these issues may feel overwhelming and too significant to overcome. Your contribution to United Way changes lives by focusing on the building blocks for a good life: education, income, and health.

You have the option to direct your gift to the United Way or Northwest Ohio Community Shares agency of your choice. United Way also offers you the opportunity to write-in any local, health and human service non-profit agency that does not appear in the printed options.

On behalf of President Rodney Rogers, the President’s Cabinet, and the various employee leadership groups on campus, I thank you in advance for your willingness to support our efforts to assist the many adults, children, and others who rely so heavily on the good work accomplished by United Way and Northwest Ohio Community Shares.
