Why do I give?

In a word, pride. For the accomplishments of all students both in the classroom and on the athletic fields, I am exceedingly proud of my university and have had the pleasure of maintaining a close relationship with my alma mater since I walked campus as a student 25 years ago.

While my support of the Falcon Club extends to all Falcon student-athletes, it’s our football program that initially instilled in me a deep sense of pride for Bowling Green State University while experiencing our back-to-back Mid-American Conference football championships in 1991 and 1992 as an undergraduate student. The joy and shared experiences with now lifelong friends during those championship seasons significantly defined and shaped my relationship with BGSU. Our entire campus community embraced the unprecedented success of our football program.

Not so coincidentally, I first joined the Falcon Club in 1992 prior to my senior year at BGSU. My contribution then met the minimum giving level like many that join for the first time. I remember thinking at the time that, if I ever achieved any professional success in life that allowed me to give back to those who helped me along the way, Bowling Green would be at the very top of that list, considering all that it provided me both in the classroom and my experiences outside of it with our football program. My support will continue as my pride for our football program transcends wins and losses.

To all Bowling Green student-athletes, I encourage you to wear your brown and orange proudly as you represent our University. To those fans who cheer on our Falcons, I encourage you to support the Falcon Club and invest in the success of our student-athletes. We undoubtedly share a mutual pride for Bowling Green.
