Dear Alumni and Friends,
Spring is here, but we're still waiting for the weather to catch up with the calendar at BGSU!

Recent good news has given us a spring boost. The Industrial and Organizational Psychology graduate program in the College of Arts and Sciences has been ranked third in the nation in U.S. News & World Report's 2014 listing of best programs in the discipline, up a notch from last year.

Additionally, the College of Business Administration is ranked No. 10 in the country among business schools in the Best for Vets: Business Schools 2013 by Military Times and listed among the "Best Grad Schools" in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

The College of Education and Human Development has also been recognized for excellence with four Improving Teacher Quality grants from the Ohio Board of Regents, totaling more than $385,000.

Our alumni received some well-deserved attention this month at the 2013 College Alumni Awards on March 2. With an honoree from each of the University's seven colleges, we celebrated accomplished alumni for their service to their professions, their communities, and to the University.

I look forward to meeting more alumni at upcoming Meet the President events in Dallas on Thursday, April 4, and in Raleigh, N.C., on Tuesday, April 30. Be on the lookout for additional events throughout the spring. Also, mark your calendars for October 4 - 6 for BGSU Homecoming 2013!

Another important date is Friday, April 12, for the 10th annual Sebo Series in Entrepreneurship featuring the theme "Adding Value to Business with Social Media." This event is part of the Dallas-Hamilton Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership's Entrepreneurship Week (E-Week), which features a variety of interactive events and activities for students, alumni and entrepreneurs.

If all of this isn't enough, there's also plenty of Athletics action in April, including BGSU's annual Spring Football Game at Doyt Perry Stadium on April 12 at 7 p.m. Admission is free and fans are encouraged to come get a sneak peek at the 2013 Falcons!

Another way to stay engaged with BGSU is by offering internships to our great students. These experiences provide hands-on learning for students such as Alissa Widman ’12, who interned with Columbus Dispatch Editor Ben Marrison ’85 and then upon graduation secured a full-time position at the Sandusky Register. Finally, congratulations to the BGSU Tennis Team for their victory over arch-rival Toledo to set a new school record with 12 straight victories. Also congratulations to the BGSU women's basketball team as the Falcons not only qualified for the "Sweet 16" of WNIT, but defeated SMU in the opening round and Duquesne in second round play. Our tournament run ended last night with a loss to Drexel. Go Falcons!
