The Ohio Population Consortium hosts a series of events throughout the year to support the research, training, and development of its affiliates. Many of these events are open to the broader community of population scholars.

Seminar Series

Weekly seminars, held on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30, provide a forum for scholars from various universities and OSU faculty to present ongoing research to a multidisciplinary audience.

Seminars take place in person in at The Ohio State University's (OSU) Townshend 038, with live streaming available via zoom. Information for each speaker is available on the individual listings on OSU's Events page.

Webinar

OPC is sponsoring a Spring Webinar series, Fertility Goals: Conceptualization, Measurement, and Impact for Science and Policy. This two-part series is being held on Thursday, February 27 and Monday, March 24 via Zoom. The event is free, but pre-registration is required.

Workshop

OPC is sponsoring a Workshop on Fertility Goals: Conceptualization, Measurement, and Impact for Science and Policy at the 2025 annual meeting of the Population Association of America. The workshop will be held in-person on Thursday, April 10 in Washington, DC. This event is free, but pre-registration is required.

Symposia

The CFDR Symposium, co-organized with the Institute for Population Research at Ohio State, will be held on Friday, April 25 in 308 BTSU (remote participation will be available through Zoom). This year's topic is The Health and Well-being of LGBTQ+ Individuals across the Life Course. Speakers include Jessica Fish (University of Maryland), Allen Mallory (Ohio State), and Claire Kamp Dush (University of Minnesota) & Wendy Manning (BGSU). The event is free but pre-registration is required.

Pre-registration will open in February.
