School of Nursing Photo Essay

June 22 - 24, 2026

The Bowling Green State University (BGSU) School of Nursing (SON) had the inaugural BGSU Nursing Camp during the summer of 2022.

Students learn about high-quality CPR and earn a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, along with Stop the Bleed training and certification. Participants are taught various nursing skills, including hand hygiene, applying personal protective equipment (PPE) and obtaining vital signs (i.e., blood pressure, respiratory rate, heart rate) by current BGSU nursing faculty and students. Students will get hands-on experiences with state-of-the-art simulators working through real-life patient scenarios. The camp will wrap up with a trauma escape room, healthcare Jeopardy, and a Q&A discussion panel with nursing professionals that are currently working in the student-identified areas of interest.
