Alumni Update

Several of our readers reached out to us after our last newsletter to let us know what’s happening in their lives.  Here is what some of our alumni have been doing.

William Nadolski (2008, 2009) – M.S. Candidate in Analytics at the Institute for Advanced Analytics at North Carolina State University.  Recently married Lauren Ashley.  Congratulations!

Stephen Cooper (2013) – Investment Analyst at The Hartford, Hartford Connecticut area.

Michael Funk (2012) – Commercial Credit Underwriter at First Merit Bank, Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area.

Lan Dinh (2014) – PwC, a professional services firm interning in the Advisory Department.

Matthew Eaglen (2004) – Works as Senior Account Manager for Dana Holdings in Maumee, Ohio, in the Driveline Technologies division.  He is interested in mentoring an undergraduate BGSU Economics major. 

Manoah O’Dell (2012) – Living in Lafayette, LA and is a High School Math Teacher at East Baton Rouge Parish School System.  He is also an adjunct economics faculty member at a local community college.

Daniel Hylant (2013) – Working for Forethought Financial Group, Inc. as an International Wholesaler, Philadelphia, PA.

Lizi Wu (2009) – Research Assistant at Project CARE, WSU, Karmanos Cancer Institute in the Detroit, MI area.

Michael Bajic (2012) – Working as a Financial Business Analyst for Arrow Electronics, Cleveland, OH.

Clayton Stewart (2012) – Working for Ford Motor Company as a Body and Exterior Stampings Buyer.  Currently attending graduate school at Wayne State University pursuing an MBA. 

Luke Barnard (2008), celebrating his first year as Workforce Analysis Manager at Sherwin Williams in the Cleveland/Akron.  Previously worked as a Manager, HR Analytics & Workforce, Promedica.

Patric Fransko (1996), is in his first year as President and Owner of Eye Magnet Management Marketing Agency, Newport Beach, California. Eye Magnet Management is a marketing and media management agency specializing in online brand management coupled with cohesive marketing strategies across relevant platforms that drives real business results. Patric will also serve on the Department's Board of Advocates.

Sara Esfahani (2012), just completed her second year in the Ph.D. in Economics Program at Notre Dame University.

Jordan Navin (2012, 2014), just completed his first year in the Ph.D. in Economics Program at Colorado State University.  He taught as an instructor at a community college this past summer.

Travis Bischoff (2014), Working for Deloitte as a consultant in the Regulatory and Compliance Team.  “Traveling is my favorite part of the job,” Bischoff admitted. Since graduation, he has been to Newport Beach, Dallas, Chicago, New York City, Parsippany and St. Louis. Most of the projects take six to eight weeks to complete, so he has time to get to know the cities where he is working.

Jarrod F. Hirschfeld (2003), Working as a Financial Advisor for Wilcox Financial, Toledo, Ohio. 

Jay Nabors (2012), completed law school and is currently a law clerk at Foth & Foth in Strongsville, Ohio, where he will turn to attorney duties once the bar exam is completed.  He recently became engaged to fiance’ Linda.

Karen Vorst (1976), Earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University in 1980. Took a position at the University of Missouri-Kansas City as an assistant professor and rose through the ranks to Professor.  She is now starting her 35th year.  She has also served as an interim Chair, Associate Dean and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.  Recently, returned to professor and an undergraduate advisor.  Married for 35 years and has 3 children.

Lee Willet (1981) lives in Boynton Beach, Florida.  After a successful 27 year career in banking, he made a career change in 2008. Today he is teaching 12th grade economics at Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Florida.

Michael Terry (2015) works as a Junior Settlements Specialist at CLSA in the Greater New York City Area.
