Water shutdown planned for July 18

Water service will be unavailable from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (July 18) in a number of campus buildings so that water line tie-ins may be completed for the campus infrastructure project.

Affected will be McFall Center, Prout Chapel, the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, Shatzel, Williams, Moseley, Hanna and Hayes halls, Eppler Center and the Education Building.

Water service including toilets, sinks, drinking fountains and fire sprinkler systems may be disrupted during this time.

Air conditioning will be turned off in Shatzel, Williams, Eppler, Education and the Union.

Restrooms will be available in the Administration Building and University Hall.

An update will be sent once service is restored.

Calling all actors, dancers for ‘Disney’s Mary Poppins’ 

Caryl Crane Youth Theatre will hold open auditions for its upcoming production of “Disney’s Mary Poppinson July 25 in the McBride Auditorium at BGSU Firelands. The show will run Sept. 10-20.

All ages and types are sought, with roles available for actors, singers and dancers. No experience is necessary. Participants must be age 8 or above by the first rehearsal on Aug. 3. The production will utilize double-casting for some roles.

Auditions begin at 10 a.m. in the McBride Auditorium, 1 University Drive, in Huron. Please arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. to participate in the dance call. The audition will conclude by noon. If you are not available to audition on this date, submit a private YouTube video clip to by 5 p.m. July 24, using the specifications provided on the audition breakdown on the Caryl Crane website

Rehearsals will be held from 8-11 a.m. weekday mornings and select Saturday mornings until school resumes. Once school is back in session, rehearsals switch to evenings, from 5-7:30 p.m. Actors may not be called for all times. A specific rehearsal breakdown will be posted with the cast list.
