Get the winning hand in the Poker Walk

Spring off to a healthy start on Wednesday (April 1). Celebrate National Walking Day at the Perry Field House with the Poker Walk. Come anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., walk around the track and collect cards to build your poker hand.

The many prizes include a Fitbit monitor, and you can enjoy healthy snacks and giveaways while improving your heart’s odds for health. A Golden Sneaker award will go to the office with the most employees participating, and the spirit award (a chair massage) will go to the group displaying the most enthusiasm.

BGSU is partnering with Wood County Hospital, the city and the county to raise awareness of heart health and get everyone moving.  “Celebrity walkers” include President Mary Ellen Mazey; Dr. Marie Huff, dean of the College of Health and Human Services; Jill Carr, vice president for student affairs; Bowling Green Mayor Richard Edwards; Municipal Administrator Jon Fawcett; Dr. Nicholas Espinoza, director of the Falcon Health Service; Stan Korducki, president of Wood County Hospital; County Commissioners Jim Carter, Dr. Doris Herringshaw and Joel Kuhlman; and County Administrator Andrew Kalmar.
