BGSU’s president to serve on national board

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University President Mary Ellen Mazey has been invited by the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) to serve as on the Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA) Oversight Board for a two-year term.

The VSA is an initiative created by public universities to supply straightforward, comparable information on the undergraduate student experience through a common website, the College Portrait. It is sponsored by the APLU and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. The function of the VSA Oversight Board is to provide direction and guidance to the VSA team in the accomplishment of project goals.

Founded in 1887, the APLU is a research, policy and advocacy organization representing 235 public research universities, land-grant institutions, state university systems and affiliated organizations. It provides a forum for the discussion and development of policies and programs affecting higher education and the public interest.
