BGSU named ‘Military Friendly School’ once again

BOWLING GREEN, O.—For the second year in a row, G.I. Jobs magazine has recognized BGSU as a Military Friendly School— at both the Bowling Green and Firelands campuses.

“We are proud of our continuing recognition as a Military Friendly School,” said Barb Henry, assistant vice president for Nontraditional and Transfer Student Services. “We foster a campus culture that is veteran friendly and the 2012 selection by G.I. Jobs demonstrates BGSU’s continued commitment to support our student veterans.”

BGSU Firelands offers a designated office and “one stop” for all veteran services and advising. “We strive to provide highly individualized support and service,” said John Clark, liaison to veteran students at BGSU Firelands. “We want to ensure that their experience here is seamless and enjoyable.”

The 2012 Military Friendly Schools List honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to help service members and veterans transition to student life.

This year, G.I. Jobs incorporated a survey of student veterans for the first time.
