CHHS Advising Learning Outcomes

CHHS Advisors have identified the following learning outcomes as essential for the advising process within the college. As a result of the advising relationship, students will be able to:

• Locate their degree audit report (DAR)
• Identify the purpose of a DAR
• Interpret their DAR to identify academic requirements
• Maintain copies of degree checklists and advising notes for future reference
• Locate their Student Center on MyBGSU to:
  • Search for courses
  • Register for classes
  • Add/Drop classes and change grading option
  • Identify their advisor
• Locate Navigate through MyBGSU to make appointments with their advisor
• Create a plan for timely graduation
• Describe how they are planning for a future career path
• Demonstrate awareness of campus resources
• Demonstrate increasing autonomy in setting goals and completing routine advising tasks
