BGSU Nutrition Clinic
Misson
The BGSU Nutrition Clinic connects education and service by providing supervised, hands-on learning experiences for students preparing for careers in nutrition and dietetics while delivering evidence-based nutrition care to the populations we serve.
Services
- Heart health (high blood pressure or high cholesterol)
- Weight and metabolic health
- Prediabetes and diabetes prevention
- Sports nutrition
- General nutrition, health, and wellness
Nutrition Education: Guidance on healthy eating and lifestyle habits.
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT): Evidence-based counseling to manage select medical conditions. Because the Nutrition Clinic is a student educational experience, individuals with complex medical needs or those requiring specialized or ongoing nutrition care should be referred to an appropriate community provider.
Who We Serve & Referrals
As a public university, we support the nutrition needs of collegiate student athletes, ROTC members, and rural residents of Wood County and surrounding communities through our university and community partnerships.
Nutrition Education and MNT: Community referrals are currently accepted from designated partner clinics and organizations. Self-referrals are not accepted.
Sports Nutrition: BGSU NCAA Division-I student-athletes may self-refer or be referred by BGSU Athletics.
ROTC Nutrition Services: BGSU ROTC students may self-refer.
Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP): Eligible adults may self-refer or be referred by a healthcare provider or community organization.
