BGSU has proudly hosted the Northwest Ohio Regional Science Olympiad since 2015. The competition features 46 events, 23 in each division: high school and junior high/middle school. These events cover a wide range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, geology, physics, engineering, and the nature of science. Each year approximately 400 students vie for individual event awards, and the top teams move on to the Ohio State Science Olympiad.

Registartion is now closed for the 2026 sesason. Self-scheduling, submission of forms, and scoring will be done on the scilympiad website.

Medals will be awarded to the top 5 in each event in the B division and to the top 6 in each event in the C division.

The top 4 schools in the B division and the top 5 schools in the C division qualify for the state competition.
