Peer Connections: A first-year EDHD Peer Mentor Program

Find support, Build Friendships, and Success in your first year.

Starting college is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming at times. That’s where Peer Connections comes in! This peer mentoring program in the College of Education and Human Development (EDHD) pairs first-year students with experienced upper-level EDHD students who provide guidance, support, and a sense of community.

Why Join Peer Connections?

  • Gain a mentor- be paired with a supportive upper-level students who has been where you are.
  • Get connected- meet other first-year students and get involved in EDHD activities.
  • Access resources- learn about campus resources, study tips, and ways to succeed in college.
  • Feel supported- have someone to answer your questions and help you navigate your first year.

Who can join?

All first year EDHD students are eligible to participate! Whether you have questions about classes, campus life, or just want to meet new people, Peer Connections is here to help! Join Peer Connections today and make the most of your first year in EDHD.

How to get involved

Joining is easy!

  • Complete the short form: APPLY HERE
  • Get matched- we’ll pair you with a peer mentor by late July/early August and your mentor will contact you in August prior to the start of the semester.
  • Start connecting- attend meet-ups, social events, and check in with your mentor regularly during the Fall and Spring semesters!
