On November 19th the Department of Theatre and Film at Bowling Green State University premiered “A Perfect Wedding” in the Thomas B. and Kathleen M. Donnell Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the Arts.
Love, romance, marriage, it all comes apart in the woods, until two gay wedding planners decide to get married--and then everyone's faith in the institution of marriage is restored by their example.
In February the Department of Theatre and Film at Bowling Green State University continued it's 2015-16 season with “Middletown” in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the Arts. Read more!
“Middletown is a deeply moving and funny new play exploring the universe of a small American town. As a friendship develops between longtime resident John Dodge and new arrival Mary Swanson, the lives of the inhabitants of Middletown intersect in strange and poignant ways in a journey that takes them from the local library to outer space and points in between.” Samuel French Play Publisher.
Finishing the 2015-16 season, the Department of Theatre and Film at Bowling Green State University performed "Noises Off" on April 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
Each of the three acts of Noises Off contains a performance of the first act of a play within the play, a poor farce called Nothing On. Written by the English playwright Michael Frayn, the idea for it came in 1970, when he was watching a performance of a farce that he had written for Lynn Redgrave from the wings. He said, "It was funnier from behind than in front, and I thought that one day I must write a farce from behind".
