CAPTAIN MATTHEW P. BRUCE

Captain Matthew Bruce is the Recruiting Officer, AFROTC Detachment 620, Bowling Green, Ohio. In addition to leading the recruiting program at Detachment 620, Captain Bruce acts as a liaison between the Air Force and college faculty. He serves as an Associate Professor with the university teaching Aerospace Studies. Additionally, he performs administrative duties and manages detachment and university resources. Captain Bruce enlisted in the Air Force in April of 2003 and his enlisted background includes various duties in the Cyber Transport Systems career field. He was commissioned in 2015 through Officer Training School and completed the Intelligence Officer Course in 2016. His assignments include the 9th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 9th Maintenance Group, 608th Air Operations Center, 2d Operations Support Squadron, and a 365-day deployment to the 609th Combined Air Operations Center. Captain Bruce has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. Prior to his current position, Captain Bruce served as the Intelligence Flight Commander of the 95th Reconnaissance Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom.
