Response to Waffle House Incident

Last week, two individuals were assaulted at the Waffle House in Bowling Green. This act of intolerance and hate was racially and ethnically motivated and without provocation. The Bowling Green Police have arrested and charged two men in the attack. While no one involved in the incident is associated with Bowling Green State University, we call Bowling Green home and want a safe welcoming community for all.

Acts like this are not representative of the community in which we live. We must meet moments like these head on, holding fast to our values. We join with Not In Our Town, La Conexion, and other members of our community in standing against hate.

Bowling Green State University is committed to supporting and empowering all to achieve excellence. We encourage anyone experiencing hate, bias and/or abusive behavior to report it. As a University, we firmly and unequivocally believe that hate has no place in Bowling Green.
