Camp Details

• NON-Residential Day Camp 
• Camp Dates:  June 14-16, 2027
• Camp Times: 9 AM - 4 PM (arrive by 8:45*) 
• Meals Provided: Daily Lunch
• Camp Cost: $275 

Highlights 

Over three days, campers will participate in hands-on activities while exploring a variety of healthcare professions:

Nutrition Sciences & Dietetics

• Prepare healthy meals while learning how nutrition impacts growth, performance, disease prevention, and overall wellness.

Public Health

• Investigate how communities promote health and prevent disease through activities and simulations focused on epidemiology, health education, environmental health, and public health decision-making.

Medical Laboratory Sciences

• Explore the exciting field of medical laboratory science and discover how laboratory testing helps diagnose and understand diseases! Campers will learn about different areas of the field, practice clinical microbiology skills, grow and evaluate specimens, and examine blood samples using a microscope. Campers will also perform basic chemical testing on specimens and interpret their findings. This hands-on experience will give students an introduction to the skills and techniques used by medical laboratory professionals.

Speech & Hearing Sciences

• Discover how professionals diagnose and treat communication disorders through hearing screenings, sign language activities, voice analysis, and demonstrations using ultrasound technology.

Social Work

• Learn how social workers support individuals, families, and communities by addressing mental health, access to resources, advocacy, crisis intervention, and overall well-being.

Gerontology

• Explore the science of aging and learn how healthcare professionals support older adults through movement, communication, nutrition, wellness, and quality-of-life interventions.

Physical & Occupational Therapy

• Experience how therapists help patients regain independence, mobility, and daily living skills through rehabilitation activities, adaptive equipment demonstrations, and movement assessments.

Sports Medicine & Athletic Training

• Tour BGSU athletic facilities, meet athletic trainers, learn injury prevention techniques, practice basic sports performance care, and explore how healthcare professionals keep athletes healthy and perform at their best.

Eligibility 

• Students entering 9th - 12th grade in fall of 2027 and 2027 graduating seniors 

Camp Cost   

• The cost of $275 for camp covers all take home supplies, lunch as well as instruction and lab fees. 

Hotel block for campers and families

BGSU Summer Camps has partnered with local businesses to offer reduced cost accommodations. Details related to the hotel block will be sent in acceptance e-mails.

Registration Deadlines

• March 1, 2027 - To be considered for early admission. Applicants will be notified on a rolling basis. 
  
• April 30, 2027 - General Application Deadline. * Please note that all spaces may fill after selection from the early admission deadline.

Cancellation Policy

• All programs, or camps within a program, may be subject to minimum enrollment and may be canceled if enrollment minimum is not met. In the event of a cancelled program all fees and registration costs will be refunded..
• Deposits are non-refundable

Deposit and Payment Information

To secure your spot in camp, a non-refundable deposit of $25 is required at the time of acceptance. Please note that camp enrollment is limited to 24 participants, and interest consistently exceeds available space each year.

To guarantee your place, we strongly recommend submitting your deposit as soon as you receive payment details in your acceptance email. You also have the option to pay the full camp fee at the time of registration. Final payment is due by May 1.

Payment Schedule

• Deposit Due: A non-refundable deposit of $25 is required at the time of registration. Payment details will be included in your registration confirmation email.
• Balance Due: Final payment is due by May 1, 2027.

• Camp Rules & Policies 

Cancellation Policy:

Refunds for canceled registrations will be issued to the individual or organization that made the original payment, according to the following schedule:

• On or before May 1: A full refund, minus the non-refundable deposit, will be provided.
• 21 or more days before the start of camp: A 75% refund, minus the non-refundable deposit, will be provided.
• 14–20 days before the start of camp: A 50% refund, minus the non-refundable deposit, will be provided.
• Less than 14 days before the start of camp: No refund will be provided.

Additional Notes:

• No refunds will be given for "no-shows."
• Participants dismissed from camp for disciplinary reasons are not eligible for any refund.
