BGSU Online nationally recognized for support of online learners

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University remains the only university in Ohio and one of just six public universities nationwide recognized for the exceptional support it provides learners across all of its online programs.

BGSU Online recently received recertification of its Quality Matters Certification for Online Learner Support for all of its online programs, which includes more than 70 bachelor’s, master’s and graduate certificate options.

The recognition reaffirms the University’s commitment to excellence in online education, with resources and support that extend beyond traditional expectations for online learning environments. 

"This rigorous process involves exhaustive peer review of our comprehensive resources – from orientation and advising to accessibility – proving through student feedback and outcomes that we are elevating online education to drive real success, proudly as a national leader in this distinction,” said Terence Armentano, Ph.D., assistant director for BGSU Online and Quality Matters coordinator for the University.

In addition to dedicated support, BGSU Online students are taught by the same world-class faculty who teach on campus, ensuring a high-quality and engaging learning experience that prepares students for career advancement.

Time and again, students cite the personalized support they receive as among the top reasons they chose BGSU Online to continue their education. 

Now an alumna, Mariah Kerrin enrolled in BGSU Online at 33 to complete a bachelor’s degree she had begun at the University several years prior.

“I will say that my experience as a nontraditional student has been very engaging and very fulfilling,” Kerrin said. “Each professor I’ve had has let me know they are available, and the relationships and friendships I have built with my classmates have spoken volumes.
