BGSU Schmidthorst College of Business earns accreditation extension

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Reflecting a commitment to providing students a high-quality education, the Bowling Green State University Allen W. and Carol M. Schmidthorst College of Business recently had its accreditation extended by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

In the most recent round of accreditation, BGSU was among only 45 institutions worldwide to be awarded an extension by the AACSB organization.

The process of achieving AACSB accreditation is a rigorous and mission-driven procedure undertaken by the entire student-focused faculty and staff in the Schmidthorst College of Business.

“We are so proud to share the news of our AACSB business accreditation extension. The entire Schmidthorst College of Business ecosystem is to be commended for their efforts to define and achieve our mission to empower students for their career journey and positively impact their future industries and communities,” said Dr. Jennifer Percival, dean of the Schmidthorst College of Business.

AACSB recognized BGSU for excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation, research, and teaching and learning. To obtain AACSB accreditation, the Schmidthorst College of Business conducted an in-depth assessment of its internal activities, engaged in mentorship with an AACSB advisor and completed a peer evaluation focused on continuous improvement.

During the rigorous, multiyear process, the Schmidthorst College of Business developed and implemented a plan to achieve its mission and align with the AACSB principles-based accreditation standards.

“AACSB congratulates each institution on achieving AACSB accreditation,” said Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and global chief accreditation officer at AACSB. “The commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of each school’s dedication—not only to its students, alumni network and greater business community — but to society as a whole.”
