BGSU to hold ribbon-cutting for new Kokosing Hall, home of the School of the Built Environment

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University will hold a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the renovation and renaming of Kokosing Hall, the former Park Avenue Building, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 27.

The new, state-of-the-art facility is named in recognition of a transformative gift from Kokosing Inc. and houses the BGSU School of the Built Environment, bringing together under one roof the construction management, architecture and environmental design programs.

Scheduled to make remarks on the opening of Kokosing Hall are: 

  • Pamela J. Conlin, vice president for University Advancement, president and CEO, BGSU Foundation, Inc.
  • Amy T. Shore, BGSU Board of Trustees
  • Dr. Jennie J. Gallimore, dean, College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering
  • Jenna N. Herchler, class of 2024 construction management major
  • Wm. Brett Burgett, president/co-CEO of Kokosing Inc.
  • BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers

Kokosing has invested in the future of its business by supporting higher education programs focused on civil engineering and construction management. Proud to be “homegrown,” the company has hosted BGSU students in co-op roles for more than 30 years. The company often retains co-op students and today employs nearly three dozen BGSU alumni, all of whom are graduates of the University's construction management program. Kokosing’s team members, including BGSU alumni, visit campus frequently to attend job fairs and engage with the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering’s School of the Built Environment.

Kokosing has expressed a sincere interest in building a lasting partnership with BGSU, one that will provide insight into industry demands, co-op and career opportunities for students and financial support for state-of-the-art programming.
