BGSU Firelands to hold monthly drive-through food pantry starting Oct. 12

HURON, Ohio — Committed to creating public good, Bowling Green State University Firelands, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, will hold a free monthly drive-through food pantry starting Tuesday, Oct. 12. The pantry will then continue on the second Tuesday of each month through Jan. 11.
 
Distributed items will include shelf-stable food and fresh produce. The pantry will be available from 4-6 p.m. on the BGSU Firelands campus in Huron. No registration is required.
 
“Collaborations like this with community partners exemplify the University's dedication to creating public good,” said Andy Kurtz, dean of BGSU Firelands. “We have a commitment to the health and well-being of all residents in our community, and we’re grateful to Second Harvest for using the BGSU Firelands campus as a distribution point.” 
 
Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio has a long history of supporting Crawford, Erie, Huron and Lorain counties, distributing over 14 million pounds of food and grocery products last year.
