The performances will be livestreamed during the Falcons’ six home football games
Fans from across the country can now watch the Bowling Green State University Falcon Marching Band’s halftime performances live on YouTube, offering audiences another way to experience America’s largest college marching band.
The performances during each of the Falcons’ six home games, beginning with the home opener on Sept. 5, will be livestreamed on the Falcon Athletics YouTube channel in partnership with WBGU-TV. Athletics plans to livestream the first song of the performances on Facebook and Instagram, and will then direct viewers to YouTube for the full performance.
Similar to a sports broadcast, the band’s performances will be narrated by a play-by-play commentator, who will provide insight into formations and instruments and share unique stories about the band.
"We’re grateful to our partners in BGSU Athletics and WBGU-TV for helping us bring the experience of America’s largest college marching band to fans across the country,” said Jon Waters, director of marching and athletic bands. “The Falcon Marching Band has worked incredibly hard to prepare for this season, and we’re excited to share their performances with a broader audience and build even greater enthusiasm for the band and BGSU.”
With a record-breaking 600 members for the 2026-27 season, the Falcon Marching Band is now the largest college marching band in the country.
This year marks the fifth consecutive year of growth for the band, which has grown more than sixfold since 2022, when it had just 90 members.
As the band has grown, so has its national and international profile. The Falcon Marching Band, led by Waters, has earned invitations to perform in some of the most iconic parades, including the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland, and the upcoming 2027 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.
More than 80% of the band’s members are non-music majors, reflecting strong enthusiasm for the Falcon Marching Band across the University and the value students place on extracurricular involvement as part of their college experience.
Support for the Falcon Marching Band extends beyond campus into the greater community, with fans turning out in large numbers to watch their performances during football games, parades and community events throughout the year.
Please note: Some of the most recognizable music performed during halftime shows for fans at Doyt L. Perry may cause portions of the livestream to be interrupted due to copyright restrictions on each platform. Should this occur, the performance will be made available via recording. We are grateful to our livestreaming partners, as well as WBGU-TV and our student broadcast team, who will help bring these performances to fans around the world.
