Bowling Green State University recently celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its Technology Engineering Innovation Center as the final two structural beams were installed, a longstanding tradition in construction signifying the completion of the building’s structure.
The two orange steel beams signed by current students, faculty, staff, alumni and University dignitaries were hoisted into place during the beam topping out.
Set to be completed in Spring 2026, the state-of-the-art BGSU Technology Engineering Innovation Center will blend classroom and hands-on learning to further elevate the University’s innovative degrees in robotics engineering, electronic and computer engineering and mechanical and manufacturing engineering.
Students in the newly reimagined BGSU engineering programs will gain a comprehensive education that combines engineering fundamentals with strong foundations in math and science. Students also will acquire practical, hands-on technological expertise, enhancing their appeal to future employers.
The innovative facility will feature seven large-scale specialty labs to facilitate experiential learning on the latest robotics and engineering technology. It will also house ultra-modern classrooms and collaboration space to support quality teaching and creative activities.
University photographers and videographers Craig Bell, Haven Conn '22, Justin Camuso-Stall '14 and students Daniel Carlson and Avery Young captured the milestone.
