BGSU Financial Aid Workshop Jan. 10

Students who have applied to Bowling Green State University or are considering the University
for the 2009-10 academic year can get a jumpstart on financial aid at two workshops on campus Jan. 10.

The informational sessions will help families understand the financial aid application process. BGSU financial aid staff will review how to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must complete a FAFSA each year in order to receive financial aid. They will also provide an overview of the types of aid available and information on how and when to apply.

The day’s other discussions will focus on such topics as scholarship opportunities, other types of aid—including grants and loans—and payment processes.

Registration is required for the workshops, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and from1-4 p.m. in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom of BGSU’s Bowen-Thompson Student Union.

Financial aid staff and admissions counselors will be available to take questions after each session, at noon and 4 p.m., and campus tours will be offered at 12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded, with grand prizes of two $250 book scholarships at each session.

Students and their families can register online at http://sfa.bgsu.edu/workshop or by calling the Office of Student Financial Aid at 419-372-2651.
