Post secondary enrollment info nights planned

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University will host an information night about the Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP) on Jan. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union's Multi-Purpose Room (Room 228).

At 7 p.m. Jan. 16, the program will be repeated in Perrysburg at the Way Public Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave.

Admission to both sessions is free, but seating is limited to 200 in BGSU's Multi-purpose Room and to 100 in the Perrysburg library. Parking for the BGSU event will be in the metered Union lot or in Lot E, across Thurstin Avenue from the Union.

PSEOP enables high school students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or above to enroll in college courses.

Participants receive college credit that may also fulfill high school graduation requirements, if approved by the student's home school district. Most credits earned at BGSU are transferable to other colleges and universities, giving students a head start on their undergraduate degree.

The state of Ohio pays the cost of tuition and textbooks for students who take courses at BGSU for both high school and college credit.

The program is intended to complement rather than replace the high school college preparatory curriculum. Ensuring maximum benefit to participating students requires a close working relationship among school districts, parents and the college or university.
