New financial aid for transfer students

BOWLING GREEN, O.—The Bowling Green State University Office of Admissions has introduced two new incentives for transfer students entering the University in fall 2007. Students who are eligible for both awards will receive the higher of the two.

“Having awards specifically for transfer students is one way BGSU is encouraging students at two-year colleges and others who have taken college coursework to earn their bachelor's degree here,” said Gary Swegan, director of admissions.

The Transfer Excellence Incentive, a $2,500, nonrenewable award, is for applicants who have earned associate degrees or are members of Phi Theta Kappa international honor society for students attending two-year colleges.

The Regional Community College Transfer Incentive, a $1,500 nonrenewable award, is for transfer applicants from either campus of Owens Community College, Northwest State Community College or Terra Community College.

An application and credentials must be on file with the Office of Admissions by Aug. 1, and students entering in the fall must enroll for six or more credit hours of classes to qualify for either award.

More details are available at www.bgsu.edu or by calling 1-866-CHOOSE BGSU.
