BGSU to remember Virginia Tech victims

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University will commemorate the victims of the shootings at Virginia Tech University with a candlelight memorial gathering at 10 p.m. Monday (April 23) in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union Oval.

Free and open to the public, the event will feature words from Johnnie Lewis, president of BGSU's Undergraduate Student Government (USG), and Michael Brown, director and advisor of Cru, a campus Christian organization. Brown will also lead the candle lighting.

In addition, participants will be able to write a message to the Virginia Tech community on banners that are currently available on the first floor of the Union and will be moved into the Oval, on the building's east side, for the memorial gathering. After the event, which is co-sponsored by the Union and USG, the banners will be shipped to the Together We Mourn campaign at Virginia Tech.
