2007 Summer Music Institute

BOWLING GREEN, O.—Bowling Green State University is again offering music camps for students in seventh through 12th grades during its 2007 Summer Music Institute.

The institute, taught by faculty and staff from the University's College of Musical Arts, provides musicianship and enrichment classes as well as clinics and guest artist performances.

The camps are intended to engage students of different age levels and experience in a compact, focused music curriculum. With limited enrollment, participants receive personalized attention, including private lessons, master classes and large and small ensemble participation.

The program is separated into five- or six-day sessions for high school and junior high school music students.

During the first session, June 10-15, the offerings include the Recording Studio Camp, the Brass Camp, the Vocal Arts Camp and, returning after a three-year hiatus, the Jazz Camp.

The second session offers two camps: the Piano Camp will be held from June 17-22 and the Musical Theater Camp, from June 17-23.

Based upon popularity, the Recording Studio Camp will be held again in the third session, June 24-29, alongside the Super Sax Camp.

The String Orchestra Camp will be offered as a six-day camp in the third session, June 24-30.

Registration costs vary, depending upon the camp attended.
