Lighting Workshop for Narrative and Commercial Film
Allison Grayson will demo cinema lighting and camera equipment from companies such as Arri, Cooke, Creamsourse, Aputure, and Litegear to teach camera and lighting techniques applicable in narrative and commercial situations. The workshop will focus on techniques such as managing depth of field and lighting a space versus lighting a face.

Jay Ellison
A 2004 BGSU Film Production graduate, Jay Ellison is a Hollywood veteran and owner of Shadowcast Pictures. Former IATSE Local 600 camera assistant with credits including Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Rush Hour 3, Criminal Minds and Deadwood. Jay founded the Moorpark Film Festival and supports film education through the Jay and Christine Ellison Scholarship.
Emma Piper-Burket
Emma Piper-Burket is a process-based filmmaker, researcher, and educator whose work spans fiction, nonfiction, and collected media to explore connections between nature, society, and the human spirit. She holds a PhD in Critical Media Practices from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Jennifer Proctor
Jennifer Proctor is filmmaker, film scholar, and Associate Professor of Journalism and Media Production at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her award-winning experimental and documentary films continue to screen internationally. She is the co-founder of EDIT Media (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Teaching Media).

Allison Grayson
Allison Grayson works in photography, digital media, and web design. She has been a camera prep technician in Los Angeles and is currently the equipment manager at TRG Multimedia in Cleveland, a commercial production studio that creates content for global brands. Professionals use the studio, its sets, and its sound stage to create work involving photography, video, CGI, and set design.
Nicholas Weiss
Nicholas Weiss has been a freelance cinematographers since 2016. His commercial clients include the Cleveland Cavaliers, Delta, Hilton, Medical Mutual, Moen, Nestle, Ohio Lottery, Perrier, Sherman Williams, and Wayfair. His insights on “Commercial Cinematography and the Future of It” can be heard on The Red Bicycle Media Podcast.
