Instructor

Instructor, Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Bowling Green State University, full-time, non-tenure track, renewable appointment. Competitive salary with full benefits.  Minimum qualifications: Have fulfilled all the program requirements of a masters’ or doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or in a closely related field by August 2018; Experience teaching mathematics and statistics courses as the instructor of record at the collegiate level. Postdoctoral-Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Bowling Green State University invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Mathematics for the Academic Year 2018-19 starting August 20, 2018. The successful candidate will have fulfilled all the program requirements of a doctoral degree in Mathematics or in a closely related field by August 2018, and have a strong research potential and a commitment to excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in algebra and analysis.

The postdoctoral appointee is expected to contribute to the department's teaching mission with no more than two courses per semester, and actively pursue and conduct research projects under mentorship of a faculty member in the Department. The faculty mentor will be identified according to the appointee’s research area and assigned by the department.

Adjunct Postitions

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Bowling Green State University (http://www.bgsu.edu/arts-and-sciences/mathematics-and-statistics.html) seeks applicants for one or more part-time teaching assignments of undergraduate courses in mathematics and statistics for the Academic Year 2018-2019.  Successful applicants will teach college algebra, introductory statistics, precalculus, math education, calculus, and/or other courses depending on the applicant’s qualifications. Starting date is August 2018 or January 2019.  Candidates must have a masters’ or doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or in a closely related field. Evidence of successful teaching in mathematics and statistics courses at the collegiate level is preferred.

Complete application file must include: (1) a letter of application; (2) full curriculum vita; (3) two current (dated after August 26th, 2017), original letters of reference; (4) official transcripts indicating the highest degree earned. Finalists will also be required to authorize and pass a background check prior to an offer of employment.
