Requirements

  •  Minimum cumulative high school GPA: 2.5 (out of a 4.0 scale)
  •  English language proficiency requirements - You must provide one or more of the following (Minimum test scores are listed.):
  •  TOEFL IBT: 71 (We do not accept the TOEFL MyBest Score.)
  •  IELTS: 6.0
  •  PTE (Pearson Test of English): 48
  •  Duolingo: 100 
  •  Completion of ELS Intensive English for Academic Purposes Level 112
  •  Attend a high school (or other higher education institution) using English as the primary language of instruction for a minimum of one academic year

Documents you will need to submit when you apply

All documents are submitted along with your online application.

  • Official transcripts from secondary school and from any post-secondary school attended
  • English language test scores or English proficiency documents
  • SAT/ACT test scores (Not required for admission. Required only if you want merit-based scholarships.)

Merit-based scholarships are automatically awarded based on your grades and academic performance. You must submit ONE of the following test scores to be considered for scholarships:

  • SAT composite score in verbal and math (BGSU SAT college code: 1069)
  • ACT composite score with a competitive English band score (BGSU ACT college code: 3240)

Important note about documents to submit

All documents must be official and in the English language. We cannot accept photocopies or documents marked "Issued to Student."

To qualify as an official document, your document must be ONE of the following:

  • Original document
  • Notarized or attested copy
  • Official English translation with the official seal or stamp of the notary or the English translator on each document
