One of the rewards of working as a quality professional is that you are not limited to a single industry or segment. The QS major originated in manufacturing. But it’s now a field essential to every discipline and is being applied in healthcare, government, military, education, service operations, retail, engineering, banking, finance and construction.
Quality professionals help their organizations transform, grow and continually improve organizational processes. Graduates of our quality systems bachelor’s degree program are well positioned to implement and lead projects.
Combined with job experience, graduates often pursue various ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer, Manager Quality and Organizational Excellence, Quality Technician, or Six Sigma Green and Black Belt.

Curriculum
Quality systems majors take coursework that integrates science, mathematics, engineering and technology. Our seven-week, online courses cover topics such as:

All working students complete a course called Experiential Learning, in which you are awarded three credits for your industry experience.

How your credits transfer
The quality systems program is transfer-friendly. Most Ohio regionally accredited, two-year community colleges offer transferable associate degrees.
We also consider prior learning experience and may award you college credit for quality-related industry experience or certifications. Speak with an advisor about this option.
The program requires 124 hours of the appropriate coursework to graduate. A minimum of 30 credit hours must be taken from BGSU and 40 credit hours of 3000/4000 level courses are required.
Thirty-six hours of applied, technical courses demonstrating proficiency in a recognized, technical area can be transferred from your previous undergraduate-level coursework.
