BGSU honors employee dedication at annual Service Awards

Nearly 300 faculty and staff members were recognized for their combined 4,462 years of service.
Nearly 300 Bowling Green State University faculty and staff members were recently honored for their dedicated service and contributions to the learning community during the annual employee Service Awards.
BGSU employees are honored beginning with their fifth year of service and then every five years thereafter. This year, eight cohorts representing five to 40 years of service were honored. The program recognized employment milestones of 126 staff members and 158 faculty members.
“Each of you being honored today has contributed to the strength, spirit and success of BGSU,” said Viva McCarver, chief human resources officer. “You are the heart of this University, quietly and consistently making a difference in the lives of our students, in the support of your colleagues and in the legacy of BGSU. We have experienced some remarkable achievements, and it’s no coincidence that behind each of these successes, there are people like you.”
Dr. Glenn Davis, vice president for student engagement and success, emphasized the collective impact faculty and staff members have on the success of BGSU as a top-ranked comprehensive public university.
“The success of our institution rests on the ways we collaborate, support each other and draw on our collective strengths,” Davis said. “Together, we create something much greater than any of us could accomplish on our own and truly demonstrate how we are a public university for the public good. We’re grateful not just for the time but for the energy, heart and expertise you bring to our campus every day.”
BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers also shared his gratitude for the dedication of faculty and staff members, who were honored for their combined 4,462 years of service.
“Bowling Green State University is a special place because of our people, including our faculty and staff, who are unwavering in their commitment to our students and our mission as a public university for the public good,” said BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers. “It is an honor to celebrate the individuals who contribute every day to making Bowling Green a kind, supportive and respectful learning community, nationally recognized for the learning experiences and opportunities it provides.”
