BGSU to host Ohio Business Week program in June

Schmidthorst College of Business will host majority of sessions for the high school business education program

For the first time, Bowling Green State University will host the Ohio Business Week program June 18-23, 2023, for high school students interested in business careers.

During the program, students from around Ohio will stay on the BGSU campus and work in teams with business professionals to create simulated business products. The student entrepreneurs will also participate in interactive sessions and trainings at the Schmidthorst College of Business to further develop their concepts. The week will wrap-up with students pitching their products to a panel of potential investors.

"We are excited to partner with Ohio Business Week to transform and inspire the business leaders of tomorrow," said Dr. Jennifer Percival, dean of the Schmidthorst College of Business. "During their time on campus, high school students will engage with business leaders in the state-of-the-art Maurer Center, one of the most innovative and collaborative learning environments for business education in the nation. We look forward to serving these students as they learn real-world business and leadership skills, create new opportunities and gain an understanding of the global marketplace."

Registration for Ohio Business Week is now open. Students interested in the program will need to work with their high school to complete the registration process.

"BGSU is a natural partner for us because of their robust business program and their active alumni base," said Cory Dippold, executive director of Ohio Business Week. "We are excited to welcome students to campus for this amazing experience."

Established in 1989, Ohio Business Week is a volunteer effort of the state’s business community to share with the next generation of Ohio's leaders the concepts and practices to be successful in business. Since its launch, the program has served more than 6,500 students through 51 camps on seven college campuses across the state.
