BGSU celebrates more than 2,500 graduates at spring Commencement exercises

Alumnae Betty Montgomery and the Honorable Judith D. Pryor deliver Commencement speeches

Bowling Green State University held in-person commencement exercises to honor the Class of 2022 Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30, with 2,579 graduates crossing the stage.

Of the graduates, 106 were presented with associate degrees, 1,858 were presented with bachelor's degrees, 519 were presented with master's degrees and 39 with doctoral degrees. Thousands of families members, loved ones and supporters attended the ceremonies at the Stroh Center.

Two BGSU alumnae delivered the Commencement speeches, offering encouragement and wisdom to the graduating class.

Betty Montgomery, 1970 alumna, former Ohio Attorney General and former BGSU Board of Trustees chair, spoke at the Friday evening and Saturday morning ceremonies.

The Honorable Judith D. Pryor, 1985 alumna and recently appointed vice president and vice chair of the board of directors at the Export-Import Bank (EXIM) of the United States, spoke at Saturday's afternoon and evening ceremonies. Pryor has served under Presidents Biden, Trump and Obama.

The ceremonies were livestreamed, with recordings available of each ceremony on the BGSU YouTube page.
